What mediums are you most fond of working with?
I play with all media. Oils are really nice with painting, though I work in acrylics and, my most basic but favored medium is the pencil. I love pencil.
What inspires you the most?
Many things. Nature, dinosaurs, space….classical artists work, like what you see in a museum.
What/who is your favorite artwork/artist?
Wow. I could list 50!! Actually I love the work of Gustave Dore, John Martin, Arnold Bocklin, JWM Turner, H.R. Giger… the list could go on. More contemporary artists include John Brosio, Stephen Hannock, I could go on. I traverse the fine and commercial arts. So I like illustrators as well. I try and use classic art as my wellspring because that way I get a look all my own.

Usually emotional. I got told once my work inspired someone to get better from some debilitating illness. Kids have come up to me and tell me in inspired them to get into art.
I have gotten a lot of nice things said, and I try and remember them when I need to.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
Keep at it no matter what and be true to oneself.

That each day I get to create something interesting and usually fun.
Describe your dream project or your favorite piece you’ve done so far.
Most likely it was, last year, the painted comic I did for IDW of GODZILLA IN HELL #2. I had always wanted to paint a Godzilla comic and it was a ton of work but, worth it in the end.
I also did a nice version of Smaug, the dragon from The Hobbit, and I painted that in oils.
If you could be any fictional character who would you be and why?
It would have to be Godzilla. I took several of those online character tests you take for fun, and Godzilla came up every time.
Which horror movie villain could you go toe-to-toe with?
Don’t know. I usually would wind up BEING the villain!!! I wind up seeing the horror movie monsters really as sympathetic, trapped in a world they never made. So it is hard to say.
